We help you manage your medications safely

Muncie Primary Care Prescription Refill Guidelines

Refills and Appointments: Medications will only be refilled up to your next scheduled appointment.

Chronic Medications: Prescriptions will not exceed six months without a doctor’s visit.

Record Matching: Refills will not be provided if your request does not match our records.

New Medications: An appointment or direct consultation with a nurse is required for new prescriptions.

Narcotics and Controlled Substances: Refills require a nurse consultation. You may need to sign for these prescriptions and are subject to random drug screenings.

Mail-Away Prescriptions: We cannot call in mail-away prescriptions but can send them electronically. If this option doesn’t work, prescriptions can be picked up at the office or mailed to you.

As internists, we prescribe medications to manage your health and ensure you understand their purpose and proper use. Follow our instructions and those of your pharmacist carefully. If a medication seems ineffective or causes issues, call us.

If you take more than three medications or receive prescriptions from other doctors, bring them in their original containers to appointments to help us monitor potential interactions.

Refills are provided for six to 12 months—track your supply to avoid running out. Refill requests are not processed on weekends unless it’s an emergency, and narcotic prescriptions are never refilled after hours.
