Dr. Holly Furdge-White is coming to Muncie Primary Care destined to wow patients with her bedside manner.

The mom of three boys has the calm, unflappable, quick-to-be-amused demeanor of … a mom of three boys.

“I don’t feel like it’s a very hard thing—treating people like people,” she says. “I just want to treat people like people and treat them like I want to be treated. I really like connecting to my patients.”

And her colleagues. Dr. Furdge-White comes to Muncie from Ascension St. Vincent in Fishers, a large system where she might not know everyone passing her in the halls. Not great for a people person.

“I missed that small-clinic feel, that family feel,” she says. “It just feels like home. When you have an issue, you can just walk down the hall.”

The Jonesboro, Mississippi, native earned her MD and served her residency at University Hospital of Arkansas and worked as a hospitalist—a doctor who specializes in caring for patients in hospitals—before coming to Indiana and working in a small Shelbyville clinic, then the big one in Fishers.

In her off hours, you’ll find Dr. Furdge-White hitting the road—she, her husband and her boys, ages 14, 10 and 7, just got back from a Mediterranean cruise—and watching sports. She’s a Colt’s season ticket holder, and her family travels for Braves games.

Just another thing making her easy to talk to. Indeed, her MO is making each of her patients feel they have all her time and attention.

“I’m not trying to get into your business, but I like to see the big picture, have the patient feel I care,” she says. “I want them to know that. I just want them to feel at ease.”
